We're so glad to be assisting you with your pardon. We know you're probably wondering what the next steps are, so we’ve put together a clear guide to the process.
First, the Filing Fee
To kick things off, please pay your filing fee. You will receive a text and a separate email with your payable invoice. If you prefer to pay over the phone, just give us a call. If you want a payment plan you can request one at the bottom of this page.
The Application Interview
The next step is to schedule a phone interview with one of our paralegals. They’ll guide you through the 30 questions on the application and help you gather the information you need to write your personal declaration.
Getting Your Fingerprints
You will receive an email from us with instructions to have your fingerprints scanned. You can go to any local live scan vendor for this. The results of your criminal record will be mailed to you within 4-7 days.
Character Letters from Friends and Family
You'll need to ask friends, family, or even former employers for letters of character. We require a minimum of three. These letters are important as they help show who you are today. We'll send you some sample letters to make it easier for them. Once you have them, you can send them to cleanmyrecord2023@gmail.com or text them to 909-492-0003.
While You're Gathering Documents...Don't worry, we'll be busy, too! We’ll be preparing your file and ordering a copy of your original case files directly from the court.
Submitting Your Application
Once we've gathered all the necessary documents, including your personal declaration and the letters of character, we will submit your application.
The Review Process
After submission, the court will begin its review. You’ll receive a notice from the court when your case has been accepted and moves on to the next department. Your application will then be reviewed by the District Attorney, the CDC, and the Governor’s Office. The final step is an in-person appointment with an officer appointed by the Governor to confirm all the details in your application.
How Long Will This Take?
The entire process generally takes anywhere from 3 to 9 months, though it can sometimes take longer if the Governor needs more time. You can expect a response from the District Attorney within 30 days of our submission.
Have More Questions?
We're here to help! Feel free to contact us by phone or text. Our phone hours are from 12 pm to 7 pm daily, and you can text us 24/7. We look forward to working with you.
